Are You Wearing the Right Colour?
Have you ever bought something you loved the look of but when you tried it on something just wasn’t right? Chances are it was the wrong colour for you.
Dressing for your skin, hair and eye colour is so important if you want to nail a stylish outfit. “But I don’t know what my colouring is”, I hear you ask. Don’t worry girl, we’ve got you covered. Let’s face it, figuring out that to wear is hard enough as it is. We’ve already spent years trying to find the perfect jeans that hug us in all the right places and hunting for that ideal white t-shirt, it’s basically a part-time job. But dressing for your colouring will ensure that you nail every look you wear whether it’s super casual WFH-vibes or your favourite LBD and a pair of Manolo’s. Essentially, knowing what colours suit you will make getting dressed in the morning a whole lot easier.
What is your skin tone?
Your skin tone is different from your skin colour. Irrespective of your skin colour you can have cool, neutral or warm tones underlying the skin. There are several ways to can figure out what tone you are. Firstly, look at your veins. If they are blue or purple, chances are you’re cool toned. If they are green, you’re warm toned. Somewhere in between the two, you’re neutral! Secondly, look at your hair and eye colour. Most people with cool tones will have grey, blue or green eye with anything from black or dark brown to light blonde hair. Neutral tones will have hazel eyes and bronde or golden hair. Whilst warm tones will have brown or hazel eyes with blonde or brown hair.
What are my colours?
As a general rule of thumb, wear colours with the same undertone as your skin. So, for example, warmer skin tones will look their best in warmer colours and so on.
