Let’s Help The Next Generation…

It is no doubt that the next generation entering into the work world is going to struggle. This pandemic has cancelled A-Level examinations, disrupted university curriculum, halted work experience programmes and left thousands unemployed. Towards the end of 2020, it was announced that students have been one of the worst affected groups during the pandemic because of the set back that has occurred in their education.

However, here at LBD we are taking matters into our own hands and helping provide relevant work experience for those that need it most.

Back in November, our Founder Marina reached out to her old school Tudor Hall to see if LBD could provide students with some work experience and chance to learn about the emerging fashtech industry. We ended up with 55 students joining the programme, learning all about LBD and how we operate. From there we onboarded several more schools including St Helen’s and St Katerines, St Georges, Badminton, Benenden and Down House.

Providing these students with the chance to engage with new emerging technologies and learning how these can help change and adapt our behaviours is a valuable experience that we are happy to provide! But more than that, these students have also helped us develop LBD. They have provided insightful feedback on the app and their engagement within the product has allowed us to see what works and what doesn't — a valuable asset to any start-up.

At a higher level, we have also worked with several different universities including London College of Fashion, London Business Schoo, Imperial College London, Glasglow University and more recently Birmingham City Univeristy. Students across these institutes have helped develop LBD as a brand and a business, providing ideas and insights on ways to approach partnerships and helping build out our business strategy. Yet again, their involvement has been invaluable to us and we hope the same is reciprocated.

So far, we have helped over 200 students and we are hoping that number will only increase.
